Private saunas in London: what a solo or group session costs

Prices below were checked on each operator's website on 12 October 2026. Per-person figures are our own arithmetic, assuming every place is filled. If fewer people come, everyone pays more.

On your own

Very few London saunas sell a private session for one person. Most private options are priced for a room, so going alone means paying for the whole room.

Rooftop Saunas is the exception: every booking at its Hackney and Brixton sites is a private cabin, and it publishes a price for one person. Off-peak means a session that starts before 4pm on a weekday; evenings and weekends are peak.

Rooftop Saunas, one personOff-peakPeak
30 minutes£20£30
60 minutes£30£45
90 minutes£40£60

At Brixton, the 60- and 90-minute sessions include a private cool-down room. Both sites are over-18s only, and the Hackney site has no step-free route: the lift stops at the third floor and there are 18 steps to the roof.

If you'd rather have infrared heat, SweatLounge in Chiswick sells a 30-minute solo infrared pod for £35. Infrared cabins run much cooler than a traditional sauna, so it's a different experience rather than a cheaper version of the same thing.

With a partner or a small group

For two to four people, Rooftop Saunas is again the simplest comparison, because the price rises with each person rather than being a flat room fee.

Rooftop Saunas, 30 minutesOff-peakPer personPeakPer person
2 people£30£15£45£22.50
3 people£38£12.67£57£19
4 people£44£11£66£16.50

The Finnish Church in Rotherhithe prices its private sauna for two: from £25 an hour on weekdays and from £28 at weekends, plus £10 for each extra person. Its public sauna costs from £12 a person for the hour, so two people pay only £1 more between them to have the sauna to themselves on a weekday. It doesn't publish a maximum group size, and it asks for 24 hours' notice to cancel.

SweatLounge's larger infrared cabin, with red light therapy, takes one or two people for 40 minutes at £60.

Hiring a whole sauna for a group

These are the private-hire prices London operators publish. They're best for birthdays, teams and groups who want the heat and the plunges to themselves.

Community Sauna Baths also lists a five-person room, Treehouse, at Hackney Wick for £110 for 1.5 hours, available only at peak times from Thursday to Sunday. Its private hire has to be paid within 14 days of booking and can be cancelled up to seven days before. Hackney Wick's Lunar Lodge and Ricardo rooms also have 3.5-hour prices.

TEMZ doesn't say which hours count as peak at Hampton Court, and Community Sauna Baths doesn't define peak for its Hackney Wick rooms, so check the booking calendar for the exact slot.

When a public session is the better deal

Privacy isn't always the expensive option. At TEMZ in Teddington, an open session costs £20 a person, while eight people hiring the whole sauna pay £15 each. On Skuna, a shared weekday session is £15 and seven people sharing the small boat privately pay about £17 each. If you have a full group, it's worth pricing both.

On your own, a public session wins easily. Community saunas start at £8 and social saunas at £9, against £20 for the cheapest solo cabin. The trade-off is company: shared saunas have set session times and other people on the benches. Our guide to your first community sauna explains how those sessions work.

Private hire we couldn't price

Some venues offer private sessions but don't show a price on their own website, so we haven't listed one:

  • Banya No.1 in Hoxton offers its private Taiga banya for two, or for groups of up to ten, booked through a third-party system.
  • Lowlu offers private cabin and whole-site hire at Kentish Town, priced on enquiry.
  • Sweheat at Royal Victoria Dock offers a private sauna for up to six.
  • Sauna Social Club in Peckham takes exclusive-hire enquiries for up to 30 guests by email.

Every venue with a private room or private hire is on the private saunas in London page, and the London sauna prices page compares the lowest single-session price at each venue.
